How To Book A Fishing Charter
Questions you should ask before booking a charter.

  1. Boat size – The larger the better. Larger means more comfort and less sea sickness. We recommend a minimum of 45 feet.
  2. Speed – You need at least a 25 mph boat. The faster the boat the more fishing time you have when you arrive at the fishing grounds. Note: Most Captains’ will lie about boat size and speed.
  3. Motors – 1 motor and 1 breakdown = 1 long day. Always charter a boat with 2 motors.
  4. Equipment – Life jackets (Type 1) are required by the Coast Guard. Radar and life rafts are not required but each boat should have one.
  5. Always book a boat that the Captain owns and operates. We have several boats in this area that is company owned and has different Captain’s on a daily basis.
  6. Talk directly to the Captain. If you get a message machine he most likely is offshore fishing. Leave him a message. He will call you back.
  7. Mate – 2nd in command. Never leave the dock without a mate unless you or your friends have the knowledge to bring the boat back to the dock. Accidents do happen!
